Chop onions in thin pieces on a chopping board and keep aside. Take a bowl and mix maida, chilly powder and salt along with water in order to make a batter. Keep mixing till you achieve a semi-thick consistency.
Heat oil in deep bottomed pan on medium heat and deep fry small portions of the prepared onion batter in the oil carefully.
Take them out on an absorbent paper once the fritters turn golden brown in color from all the sides. Serve hot with ketchup.
